Diploma in Creative Design (Interior Design) will help students develop specific skills and methods fundamental to creativity and design processes of Interior Design.

Programme Contents
The diploma programme will help students develop specific skills and methods fundamental to creativity and design processes of Interior Design. As the course progresses, students will concentrate on the skills and develop confidence in their own ideas and creativity. Students will receive guidance on educational opportunities and help to prepare a portfolio for interview that demonstrates students' creative skills.

Programme Features

  • Professional Teaching Team: This programme is taught by a professional teaching team with extensive industry and teaching experience in higher education
  • Programme Content: Provide training of creative productions and interior design skills
  • Software at Industrial Level: The programme includes different professional software such as AutoCAD, SKETCHUP, Vray, 3ds Max, Unreal, BIM
  • Career Oriented and No Examinations: The programme is career-oriented which emphasises practical and applied learning. Students are assessed by professional practice and project assignments
  • Membership Recognition: Students are eligible to apply for student membership of Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA)

Local interior designer with over 30 years of interior and architectural design experience. Flora founded “Flora Lau Designers Limited” in 2004 and has participated in more than 500 projects. Flora also has over 20 years of teaching experience.

Interior Designer with over 20 years of industrial experience. Mike has experience in giving lectures on Interior design drawing software to different institutes in Hong Kong and Macau

Graduation Path
  • Graduates can apply for a $10,000 Internal Student Articulation Scholarship to further study in the Higher Diploma in Interior Design, followed by a bachelor degree in related disciplines or join the field of creative industry as junior designer related to graphic design, event production and window display.
  • 2023 Graduation Progression: 100% Articulated to Higher Diploma in Interior Design
Internship

The programme offers a wide range of practical experiences,opportunities and participation in relevant life projects. Students may also have practicum opportunities in interior design firms or relevant organizations. Over 15 organisations provide practicum opportunities to students.

  • Completion of Secondary 6; or
  • Completion of Secondary 5 with 1 year post Secondary 5 study or working experience; or
  • Mature student (aged 21 or above); or
  • Equivalent qualification; and
  • Pass in admission interview
Creative Studio

Creative Studio
HKCT recognises that creativity thrives in ample space. We provide this studio for students to engage in discussions, brainstorming, and creative pursuits. It is equipped with 3D printers, laser cutting machines, large-scale printing machines, and flexible partition settings. It is open 24 hours and can be divided into individual studios as needed, allowing students to focus on their graduation projects.

Profession Design Lab
Professional Design Lab

Design Lab provides iMacs and professional software, including Adobe Creative Suite for Flash, animation, graphic design, and image processing. Moreover, 3D Studio Max is also included for 3D modeling, which is useful for Interior Design students.
