Adverse Weather Arrangements

Tropical Cyclones Warnings and "Extreme Conditions"

When the No.1 signal or No.3 signal is issued

All classes and examinations are conducted as scheduled.

When the pre-No.8 special announcement, No.8 signal or above, or "extreme conditions" is issued

All classes and examinations not in progress are cancelled

Contingency Arrangements
1. Examination already in progress will continue until the end of the session
2. Classes in progress are suspended immediately
3. The institution would consider opening the campuses to students if necessary
4. The institution would allow students to leave the campuses when the condition is safe

When the No.8 signal or above is replaced by No.3 signal, or "extreme conditions" ends

Classes and examinations will be resumed when the signal/announcement is replaced/ended:
1. before 7:00 am, all classes and examinations will be resumed;
2. before 10:30 am, afternoon and evening classes and examinations will be resumed; or
3. before 5:00 pm, evening classes and examinations will be resumed

Rainstorm Warnings

When the AMBER or RED signal is issued

All classes and examinations are conducted as scheduled.

When the BLACK signal is issued

All classes and examinations not in progress are cancelled.

Contingency Arrangements
1. Classes and examinations in progress will continue until the end of the session
2. When the BLACK signal is issued:
a. from 7:00 am onwards, morning classes and examinations will be cancelled but the campuses will temporarily open;
b. from 10:30 am onwards, afternoon classes and examinations will be cancelled but the campuses will temporarily open; or
c. from 5:00 pm onwards, evening classes and examinations will be cancelled, but the campuses will temporarily open
3. The institution would allow students to leave the campuses when the condition is safe

When the BLACK signal is replaced

Classes and examinations will be resumed with the following schedule:
1. before 7:00 am, all classes and examinations will be resumed;
2. before 10:30 am, afternoon and evening classes and examinations will be resumed; and
3. before 5:00 pm, evening classes and examinations will be resumed

*Please note that class arrangements for Applied Learning (ApL) and ERB courses are not included in the practice above. Students for these two courses please pay attention to the phone and/or SMS notifications from HKCT in due course.
