Professional Diploma in Civil Engineering - This is a two-year part-time programme providing academic pathway in disciplines related to Civil Engineering to obtain higher level of qualification.

Professional Qualification

 This programme has been accredited by: 

  • the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE); and
  • the Hong Kong Institution of Incorporated Engineers (HKIIE).

 

Contents
The programme is divided into six semesters in 2 years and students are required to take two to three modules each semester. Students have to complete all six semesters and each module consists of 22-33 face-to-face contact hours with lecturers.

Teaching Facilities 

Engineering & Construction Laboratory

The Engineering & Construction Laboratory is available for engineering and construction students to conduct a variety of experiments and tests. It provides equipment for material testing, structural analysis, energy efficiency evaluation, and more. Students can explore new construction design methods and concepts using different materials and technologies, and evaluate the feasibility and performance.

Entry Requirements
  • Holder of Diploma for Tertiary Studies or Diploma in Professional Studies (Building Technology) or Diploma in Professional Studies (Electrical) as awarded by HKCT with at least 1 year of working experience; OR
  • Holder of Pre-Associate Degree with 1 year of working experience; OR
  • Mature applicants aged 23 or above with at least 1-year relevant working experience; OR
  • Holder of Higher National Certificate (HNC) or holder of Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering with at least 1 year of working experience can be considered for admission into Year 2; OR
  • Holder of other qualifications may be entitled to have course module exemption subject to maximum 50 percent of total number of credits.

Total $52,200 (in 6 installments)

HKCT Alumni Fee Reduction*

  • HKCT former student who has completed a one year programme or above is eligible.
  • 5% of total tuition fee reduction (max $1,000) will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.

*In the event of any dispute, the decision of HKCT shall be final.
