How to Apply

 

You can submit your application through one of the channels below.

1. HKCT Online Enrollment System at www.hkct.edu.hk/u-choice

2. By mail or visiting the general office of the HKCT campus.

(Please seal the application form and all related documents in an envelope and indicate “2018-19 Programme Application to Registry”on the envelope.)

3. By Fax: 2713 7018

 

By visiting the general office of the HKCT campuses, the following should be submitted along with your application form for verification:

• Original and a copy of your Identity Document;

• Original and a copy of all related academic certificates;

• Original and a copy of the school report or academic result of your last school year;

• One passport photo (Please write down your name and HKID no. on the back of the photo).

 

 

Application Procedures

 

1. Step 1: The College will send an acknowledgement via e-mail upon receipt of your paper application. For online application, the acknowledgement will be issued after your submission.

2. Step 2: The College may ask you to attend an interview and/or a written test from November 2017 onwards. Relevant applicants will be notified by e-mail in advance. Second Interview may be arranged if necessary.

3. Step 3: After interview, Result Notification will be issued through e-mail.

 

 Important Notes

 

1. For verification purposes, you will be required to present the original of all supporting documents at the time of registration. Failure to do so may lead to nullification of your offer.

2. Your application will be considered based on programme choices, academic qualifications, interview performance, conduct at school and written test (if applicable) as well as study places available.
HKCT reserves the right of cancellation of programme due to insufficient enrollment or special circumstances and the right of granting offer. Applicants will be notified accordingly.

3. Please note the deadlines stated in the Offer Letter. If you cannot achieve the requirements listed on the Offer Letter before deadlines, the study place will be released to another qualified applicant.

4. SMS and e-mail will be the major communication channels between the College and you. You must provide a mobile phone number and an e-mail address accurately.
Please check your mailbox regularly as important announcements and Offer Letter will also be issued through e-mail. Also, please ensure the setting of your mailbox will not block the e-mail from the College.

5. Applicants who do not have the right of abode or the right to land in Hong Kong should obtain a visa or an entry permit to study in Hong Kong from the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government before the semester commences; otherwise your study place will be cancelled or your registration will be nullified. Any fees paid will NOT be refunded.
Applicants with conditional right of abode should provide valid documentary proof issued by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government; otherwise your study place will be cancelled or your registration will be nullified. Any fees paid will NOT be refunded. Applicants have to bear all the legal liabilities. The College reserves the right to seek all remedies available by law.

6. If you will take HKDSE in 2018, the College reserves the right to collect your public examination results from the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority.

7. The College has been complying with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to ensure that applicants' personal data are kept securely and accurately. If you would like to access or amend your personal information, please send a written request to the Hong Kong College of Technology.

 

 

Collection of Acceptance Offer (Current HKDSE Candidate only)

 

1. Current HKDSE Candidates who have been granted a provisional offer should bring along the “Conditional Offer Letter” with HKDSE result slip to claim a formal “Acceptance Offer” in person at the HKCT Specified Campus on the day of HKDSE result announcement, 11 July 2018. For details, please refer to the “Conditional Offer Letter”. Upon verification of the fulfillment of the required condition(s) listed in the “Conditional Offer Letter”, the College will issue a formal “Acceptance Offer Letter”.

2. The “Conditional Offer Letter” will be deemed invalid if the applicant does not claim the offer by the deadline specified above and the study place will not be reserved for the applicant.

 

 

How to Pay Application Fee

 

1. Every applicant has to pay an application fee of HK$120, otherwise the application will not be proceeded.

2. Whether admission interview is arranged or the application is successful or not, application fee is non-refundable or non transferable.

3. The Application Fee can be settled by the following methods:

• Online Payment; or

• Crossed Cheque (By mail or In Person at the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus / Ho Man Tin Campus); or

• Credit card Mail Order (Fax or Mail) ; or

• EPS (In Person at the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus / Ho Man Tin Campus).

 

*Crossed cheque should be made payable to “HONG KONG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY”. On the back of the cheque, please state the applicant's name, contact number and the title of the 1st choice of programme you apply for.

We do not accept cash by post or promissory note.

 

 

Tuition Fees

 

1. The tuition fees for the 2018-2019 academic year are subject to the final approval from the Education Bureau.

2. Applicant must pay the Deposit / 1st installment of tuition fee on or before the deadline stipulated in the Offer letter.

3. Deposit / 1st installment of tuition fee can be settled by the following methods:

  • Online Payment; or
  • Crossed Cheque (By mail or In Person at the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus / Ho Man Tin Campus); or
  • Credit card Mail Order (Fax or Mail) ; or
  • EPS (In Person at the HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus / Ho Man Tin Campus); or
  • Jetco ATM Payment#

* Crossed cheque should be made payable to “HONG KONG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY”. On the back of the cheque, please state the applicant's name, contact number and the title of the 1st choice of programme you apply for.

We do not accept cash by post or promissory note.

 

# Please go to ATM with [JET Payment Service] logo. Select [Bill Payment] > [By Merchant Code] > Enter merchant code [9277] > Enter [02] as Bill Type > Enter Student ID* > Enter payment amount. Please keep the receipt for consultation in the future.
Student ID can be found in offer letter.

 

 

Tuition Fees Refund

 

1. The paid tuition fee will NOT be refundable or transferable except for unsuccessful application or cancellation of programme or acceptance of (i) UGC-funded full-time degree programme under JUPAS or (ii) undergraduate programme subsidised under Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) for current HKDSE candidates.
Applicants whose applications fail will be notified by the College via email.

2. In case a programme is cancelled, the applicant can apply for a refund of tuition fee by presenting a related official receipt to the general office of a designated HKCT campus within one month after being notified. Refund will NOT be processed after the deadline.

3. If the applicant paid the tuition fee, but ultimately the admission eligibility cannot be achieved, the applicant can apply for a refund of tuition fee by presenting a related official receipt to the general office of a designated HKCT campus within one month after issuance of the result. Late submission or failure in presenting valid supporting documents would not be accepted.

4. Tuition fee paid by credit card will be refunded through the respective credit card company. In case of request for refund in the form of a crossed cheque, 3% of tuition fee will be charged as administrative fee and no objection can be raised.

5. Current HKDSE candidates who have successfully obtained and accepted offers of (i) UGC-funded full-time degree programme under JUPAS or (ii) undergraduate programme subsidised under Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP), please come to HKCT campuses to apply for deposit refund before 08 August 2018, noon (After JUPAS main round offer results), 20 August 2018, noon (After JUPAS offer results for reconsideration of applications based on rechecking and remarking) or 22 August 2018, noon (After JUPAS clearing round offer results). Application beyond the deadline will NOT be accepted. Full refund of payment of deposit with deduction of an administrative fee of HK$500.
