The course equips students with the knowledge and skills of exercise science and coaching and strengthens their career-related skills, prepares for further study in sports-related programmes and career development.
Programme Contents
This programme enables students to understand the basic knowledge in the areas of sports science, fitness and health as well as the fitness testing and assessment through the practice of exercise and fitness skills. Through the integration of learned knowledge and skills, students need to design and implement sports and fitness training activities, which strengthens their job-related skills to prepare for further study in sports-related programmes and career development.
If students attained “Attained with Distinction (I)” in this ApL course^, it is comparable to Level 3 of the Category A subjects of HKDSE examination; if they attained “Attained with Distinction (II)”, it is comparable to Level 4 of the Category A subjects of HKDSE examination.

Articulation Path
Upon completion of Form 6, students can articulate to Higher Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Sports Management or Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Sports Management with Coaching

Lessons will mainly be held at students' own schools. Details will be confirmed between course provider and schools concerned.
HKCT signed MOUs with numerous renowned local and mainland Sports organizations and enterprises, with a consensus to work together on programme development, talent exchange and training.
^ According to the Education Bureau Circular Memorandum No. 40/2017, applicants of Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes are allowed to use up to two Applied Learning (ApL) subjects in the application for entrance requirements, i.e. "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction", will continue to be used.
