HKCT Organise Cybersecurity Skills Competition Attracting Nearly 200 Elites to Promote Industry Development
Following the 1st Hong Kong Cybersecurity Skills Competition that successfully brought together numerous cybersecurity elites from the industry, HKCT (HKCT Institute of Higher Education and Hong Kong College of Technology) organised the 2nd Hong Kong Cybersecurity Skills Competition last Saturday (21 September) which gathered elite individuals from related fields. The competition attracts nearly 200 applications from Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China.
Referring to the relevant to local laws and regulations in Hong Kong, as well as the professional standards for network and information security and digital forensics issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Security of the People's Republic of China, the competition fully considered the practical experience and current industry trends, knowledge, technologies, skills, equipment and related content. In addition to the cybersecurity skills and know-how, digital forensics was added into the competition this year aiming to enhance the professional skills and quality of the practitioners, and to drive the development of the industry by providing people who are interested in joining related industry with preemployment training and the opportunities to obtain a professional qualification, and to promote training work for cybersecurity and digital forensics-related talents.
The competition combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with each component accounting for half of the total score. The top 5 participants with highest score will be granted certificates issued by the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, and will receive Xbox Series X (for winner with first prizes) and a 10th Generation iPad (second prizes).
